"Mexico leftist forecasts instability if no recount" - NY Times, July 9, 2006. Big picture may be an long-term effort to make leftist civil unrest and insurrection more thinkable here in the USA.
Obrador, Chavez, Castro, others are -- maybe not a gang, but like-minded gangs. Obrador would be merely a typical Marxist in seeking the opportunity to destabilize Mexico, and the USA is next in line. Chavez has already involved activist supporters here in the USA in the immigration debate, helping gin up the demonstrations and trying to arrange "formative political experiences" for millions of young Mexican-Americans.
